Kelim Senneh Rug

Senneh is the old name of the modern city of Sanandaj. The rugs originating from the city and from nomads or farmers in the surrounding region are known as Senneh rugs. These double-sided kilims feature the traditional slit weave technique. They often showcase small-scale patterns with motifs such as bouquets of roses, rows of trees or flowers, as well as the traditional Mahi (fish) design. Larger central fields may also appear, often framed with a rhombus in different colors.
